Take a deep breath. All is not lost. Do not panic. There are several ways to retrieve an accidentally deleted blog post. I am writing this even as I myself have just recovered from an incident! Phew!
I had finalised and published my blog using my PC. A few days later I was viewing that blog on my handphone and noticed an older version. There was an option to “restore latest version ” which I did and I promptly deleted what i thought looked like the ‘older’ version. It got messed up and the older version became ‘live’ rather than the updated version.
HOW TO RESTORE A DELETED WORDPRESS BLOG POST:
If you want to go back to an older version which means you still have a post on that topic, go to the WordPress edit function for that post, Under Publish tab click on Revisions Browse.
In this case, I had 25 revisions. Click on the slider and move back to the version that you want to use.
Under WordPress Admin > Post > Trash.
This will bring up some, but not all the trashed posts.
Use GOOGLE HISTORY / MYACTIVITY
Learning from this experience, I have since started to save a my final blog post as a Google Word document to Google Drive as a back up.
